Xperitas is a nonprofit educational organization, committed to making immersion programs accessible to as many students as possible. Providing financial aid grants to eligible students is one way we can meet our mission of transforming lives through shared global experience and intercultural learning.

Financial Aid Eligibility

Financial aid eligibility is based on a participant's financial need. Participants whose families have a household income of $55,000 or less are eligible. The minimum award is 10% of the program cost, and the maximum is 60% of the program cost.

Award Amounts

The chart below is a guideline for financial aid eligibility; however, we take into account all of the applicants' circumstances and submitted materials. Students and parents can estimate the amount of financial aid for which they are eligible using the chart below.

Household Income

Award amount

$35,000 – $55,000 up to 15% of total program cost
$25,000 – $35,000 up to 20% of total program cost
$15,000 – $25,000 up to 35% of total program cost
$0 – $15,000 up to 60% of total program cost

Award amounts will vary depending on the following conditions:

  • the amount available in the fund
  • the number of applicants who are eligible for financial aid
  • the number of dependents in applicant's household

Application Process

Students must be registered on a 2021 Xperitas program and postmark their complete Financial Aid application no later than October 15, 2020.

Edie and Bob Green Writing Scholarship

New for 2020 travelers!

These merit-based scholarships are awarded annually in honor of two of our founders, Edie and Bob Green, who worked as German teachers for many years before dedicating themselves to making language immersion programs available to high school and middle school world language students. Recipients of the Edie and Bob Green Writing Scholarship submit a blog post or a vlog following their language immersion experience, to be featured on the Xperitas website and/or social media channels. All Xperitas language immersion program participants are invited to apply; however, this is an especially great opportunity for high school students with an interest in writing, communications or journalism to produce professional work for their portfolio.

Up to four (4) $500 scholarships may be awarded in any given program year.

  • You must be a student (grades 9-12) registered on an Xperitas Immersion program.
  • You must complete the requirements of the scholarship application and have them submitted by October 15, 2019.
  • You must agree to the post-program submission requirements, which are submitting at least one additional blog post of 600-750 words or vlog post of 2-3 minutes and at least one program photo. Additional posts and photos are welcome.

Deadline: All documents must be postmarked or sent by email no later than October 15, 2019. Only complete applications submitted by the deadline will be considered.
